In the beginning, develop a list of chores and make sure that you reward your children for completing their tasks or helping others. These rewards can be as simple as getting to choose a meal or as extravagant as a monetary reward, or allowance, for completing all of their tasks.

Make sure your children know that no matter what they go through or do, they can always be honest with you if they need help your guidance. Family values will come from those meals that you share with your loved ones, as your children will hear about the things that you go through during the day and you will hear about what they go through. Hearing you talk about how you face challenges and solve problems, and being able to discuss the things that are important to them, is a good teaching and learning opportunity for your children.
