One of the great things about some of these websites is that you can actually download software for your personal computer. This software will allow you to organize all of your family history information, including relatives names, birth dates and more. Many of them even have great tools that will help you search for some of your more hard to find relatives.

If you have children, this can be a great way to sit down with them and talk about some of the stories behind their family history. It can be a lot of fun for them to sit down at the computer and help you input some of the names into the family tree. Most of the software that is available will actually give you access to a personal home page for your family tree where you can display the family history for your other relatives to view as well. This is the perfect way to keep in touch with relatives while sharing all of the information you have found while researching your family history.
