Sometimes going out for dinner and a movie starts to get old, especially if it's usually what you do on your regular date night. Even couples who haven't been married for that long might start to get bored with the same thing. Here are a few unusual date ideas to create a unique and unconventional memory together.
Hunt down local photo booths in your town and take fun pictures together. You'll find photo booths at a lot of interesting places, commonly in movie theater lobbies and big shopping malls. Make it an adventure to find as many as you can.
Escape rooms are real-life adventure games in which you have an hour to find clues and puzzles that will help you get out of the room. It requires teamwork and cooperation, but they are also made to be a lot of fun. This is a great date idea to test and improve your cooperation skills.
Although it's probably one of the most expensive date ideas on this list it is unique and fun. If you have the funds to do this it could be a great experience and a lasting memory.
Although taking just about any kind of class together could make for a great date - workout, art, or something else - dance class is perfect for married couples. You can choose any kind of dance you would like to learn together, but a partnered dance like ballroom or swing would be ideal for two.
Renting either a Vespa or your dream vehicle for the day or for a weekend would make an exceptionally romantic date. Cruise through town and take all of the back streets, or go on a mini road trip together and show off your dream car.
Whether you've been in the town or city for decades or you're pretty new to the area, pretending that you're tourists is a fun way to reconnect and explore new locations or places you may have forgotten. Check out local museums and landmarks, and even go to a hotel in your own town if you want to take it a step further.
If you are looking for something that you can do in your home or something that costs no money try reading your favorite books to each other aloud. If not a story, perhaps some poetry that you think your spouse might enjoy or a book of jokes.
Trade shows can be a great way to learn about new things you can try together. If you're near a larger city there are many such shows to try out. Some examples might include a culinary festival, car show, collectibles show, exotic pet expo or home & garden show. It can be a fun time for you both to take in something new or to enjoy something you already love.
Find open houses in the area and pretend to be potential buyers. Maybe you will get some ideas for your dream home, or just have a good time wandering around in strangers' houses. If there aren't any nearby you could explore the flea market, yard sales, or even estate sales.
There are many different ways to volunteer, so find something you both enjoy. If you like animals volunteer at an animal shelter together. You could also try a hospital, charities, libraries, clean up a local park, put care packages together, or any other ideas you have. Giving together is a great way to bond and make the world better.
