Events & Attractions
Game shows are some of the most entertaining programming on television today. A fantastic date idea is to be in the audience of your favorite game show. Who knows, one or both of you may even end up being a contestant on the game show. Usually, all contestants, even if they don't win, receive prizes for playing the game. Those prizes will always be a reminder of your game show date. Don't forget if you are a contestant or in the studio audience, to record the game show so you can show your friends and family later. If you don't live near a studio with a game show, you can either take a road trip or fly out and turn your game show date into a mini vacation.
Shopping
In many cities, the weekends are hot days for garage sales. You can easily spend an entire Saturday going from garage sale to garage sale, finding all kinds of goodies. Here is a little fun thing you can do to turn going to garage sales into a date. Try to find at least one item that you think the other would like. It doesn't have to cost much; you can set a limit of a couple of dollars on the item. You'll be surprised by the items that your spouse thinks that you will like. Seeing the items your spouse chooses gives insight into what type of person they think you are.
Hobbies
Gardening is an activity both of you can do during a date and enjoy the benefits for months to come. Who doesn't love eating fresh produce straight from the garden? Another great date idea is to preserve your bountiful harvest together by canning and freezing everything after you've picked it. A jar of preserves is a wonderful gift, and the two of you can whip up a batch in your kitchen with the fruits of your labor in the garden. You can turn your backyard into a garden or even a windowsill if you're in an apartment, and outdoor space is at a premium.
Hobbies
A gem hunting date can consist of many different things. You're not very likely to find gems of much value wherever you go, but the fact that you find them yourselves makes it worth it. There are some diamond fields where you can scour the land and try to find diamonds for a flat rate. You might pay by the hour or by the day to comb through the area to find diamonds. Some mines will allow you to go in and search for precious gems for a fee as well. The exciting thing about gem hunting is you never know what you're going to find. You might find a gem worth thousands of dollars, or you could walk away with nothing. It's all about the thrill of the hunt, and that's what makes this date so exciting.
Outdoors
There are two ways that you can turn geocaching into a fantastic date. The first would be to do geocaching with another couple, and each couple places items around for the other to find. If you don't know anyone who is into geocaching, then each spouse can place objects and have the other look for it. Geocaching is kind of like a high-tech version of hide and seek or a scavenger hunt. It's exciting trying to find the items, and you will enjoy being outside. The real fun part is when both of you have difficulty finding something, and you know it's right underneath your nose. You may be surprised to learn that geocaching is very popular with a large community backing. Check out sites like

Romance & Relationship
Married couples have an almost impossible time keeping the romantic flame lit. If you have children, you know that sometimes having five minutes of alone time is a dream. No matter if you have kids or not, renting a room for a night is a great idea. If you can afford it, go the all-inclusive route and rent a hotel room that comes with all the bells and whistles. You should be able to find a room that comes with three meals and all the things needed to allow you two to focus on nothing but sharing some time together.
Tours
Ghost towns hold such historical value that they are something that every history buff should visit. Going on a ghost town tour is one of the best ways to see one of these deserted towns and learn about its history. If you can't find a tour for whatever reason, don't hesitate to take a trip to a local ghost town. You will want to do as much research as possible about the town before you go there, so you have a full understanding of what you are about to see. Ghost towns are amazing in that they preserve life as it was even though time has flown by. You can get a feeling for what life was like when the town was bustling by the buildings and the remnants of the lives of the people who lived and worked in them.

You don't need a reason for a gift exchange other than to express your love for one another. A gift exchange can be a date in itself, or you can add it to another date idea to have the ultimate experience. Set a limit on how much money you want to spend on the gift. If you really want to go all out, then have a themed gift exchange. For example, if you're both Harry Potter fans, buy each other something that only a true-blue fan would know about. The purpose of a gift exchange isn't to have high expectations about what your husband or wife will buy you, but to enjoy giving each other something even if there's no particular occasion.
Food & Drink
Building a gingerbread house is a delicious activity that produces excitement as no other date can. You can share your gingerbread house with friends and family after you're done building it. Your gingerbread house can be as elaborate or as simple as you want it to be. The most fun thing about building a gingerbread house might be eating your final product. Make sure to take quite a few pictures of your gingerbread house to remember how delicious your date was. Share the photos on social media to make everyone jealous about your confectionary filled date.
Outdoors
Glamping is a more glamourous version of camping. You don't have to rough it or anything like that when going glamping. With camping you are stuck with cooking, sleeping and going to the bathroom outdoors. With glamping you get to enjoy both the benefits of indoor facilities and the beauty of nature at the same time. With glamping you don't live in a little tent and have to forage for your food like you would under normal camping conditions. Glamping usually requires more than a few hours, and it's best suited for a weekend date getaway where you spend time with each other and forget all about the distractions that usually drive couples apart.
Fun & Games
Glowsticking is a fantastic date idea for those who enjoy being outside after dark. It's also possible to use glow sticks inside, but you've got to be careful not to hit anything. To have fun while glowsticking you take the glow stick on a string in swing it around. The stick glows in the dark, and it looks incredible as it moves around. If you want to have even more fun on your glowsticking date, play some music and try to swing the glow stick to the beat. Play with the glow sticks while listening to various styles of music. Choose a style of music that you think goes least with glowsticking and try your best to make it work. Sometimes the most fun day you'll have glowsticking will be when you least expect it, and you discover a new way of playing with your glow sticks. Try to take some photos or videos of the light show that you put on and see what kind of art you can produce.
Fun & Games
Unleash your competitive side by going go-kart racing. Many of the places that have go-kart racing also have restaurants and video games. Why not turn your go-kart racing adventure into a day-long date? Eat pizza, race cars, and play a few games afterward. It's so much fun to drive side by side in the go-karts. You'll have a blast when one passes the other in their kart. Don't be surprised if you want to keep the fun going and race several times in a row. It's next to impossible to stop racing once you get it into your system.
Personal Development
You've got to set goals for you to grow as a couple. The goals you set should be in tandem with each other. It would be foolish for each person to set their own goals without consulting the other first. Your spouse can be your best motivation in achieving your goals. Discussing the goals that you have are a crucial first step in getting them done. Go for a walk, sit at a restaurant, have a picnic, and discuss and write down what you hope the future looks like. After you both agree on where you want to go, then make a game plan to put all of your goals into action.
Shopping
Every household needs to go shopping. A shopping date can be to buy groceries, things for your home, or just to blow some money on yourselves. Shopping together is one of those things that couples do to learn about themselves. If you live busy lives, sometimes it's nice to do things such as shopping to connect. If you have a hard time finding the time for date nights, doing the things you have to do already can be an easy fix. Don't be in a hurry while shopping and take a look at all the things in the store that interest you. Sometimes setting a budget on how much you can spend can make the date so much more fun since it makes you look at the products and prices. If you really want to have a wild shopping date, allow each person to buy the other something. You really get to know how your spouse perceives you when you ask them to buy you something while shopping.

Panning for gold probably won't bring in tons of money, but you'll get to enjoy a new activity. You can go to a local stream and pan for gold, and it doesn't cost anything. There are places where you pay, and they allow you to pan their streams for gold. You might see a speck of gold here and there, and that's what makes it so much fun. It's like hunting for a needle in a haystack, and seeing your spouse's face light up when they find gold is priceless. You'll feel like someone who headed out west in hopes of finding prosperity when you're sloshing the water and sediment around the pan, searching for any specks that sparkle in the light.
Sports
Going to a golf match enables you to see the professionals in action. If you start your date early, you might be able to get close to the ropes and have an even better view of the professionals as they work the course. Golfers tend to be a little more relaxed than other professional athletes, and you might be able to get an autograph if you're lucky. If you want to have even more fun during your golf date, each of you can choose a player that you think will win and cheer them on as the game continues, or even have a little friendly wager between the two of you.
Sports
Hitting the links on a bright, beautiful sunny day is an excellent getaway for those who want some alone time. You can either go on the range and hit some balls or play as many holes as possible. There are so many opportunities for couples to talk while they're playing golf. The game itself often is the backdrop for the conversation that takes place. As you go from hole to hole, the conversation has a way of flowing. As a well-established couple, good communication can sometimes be difficult, and hitting the golf course is an excellent excuse to spawn some great conversations.
Sports
Watching golf on TV allows you to see the sport like few people do in real life. Professional golfers are incredibly talented, and the close-up shots that the camera provides are like nothing else. Whether you're into golf or not so much, watching it on television is a great idea for a date. You can go back and forth and pretend that you are giving the golfer advice on how they can improve their game. You can even pretend to be their caddy and suggest what golf clubs they should use for the next shot. Don't forget to have plenty of snacks and refreshing beverages ready because you will want to snack and drink while watching all of the golfing excitement.

There's something so undeniably romantic about going on a gondola ride. It's like a blast from the past as the person guides you through the canal. It will take but a mere matter of moments before you're able to comprehend what's going on fully. After you get adjusted, that's when the sparks begin to fly. Romance will be in the air, and you'll hold hands for the entire evening after you get off the gondola. The perfect way to end a gondola date is by going to an Italian restaurant or anywhere where the two can eat a quiet meal while being left alone.
Outdoors
Many of you may not know what gongoozling is, but quite a few of you enjoy it nonetheless. Gongoozling is an appreciation and observation of canals and the things that go on in and around canals. Someone who is gongoozling enjoys spending time on canals and, in this case, likes to have dates on them. Sometimes a simple date of holding hands while overlooking the canal can be an enjoyable experience. Since gongoozling requires you to be outside, it's a perfect date for a picnic. Toss a few things to eat in your picnic basket or go to your local favorite fast food restaurant and pick something up to go to eat after you have spent an afternoon enjoying gongoozling.
