The fun thing about paddle boats is that you both can do it at the same time. If one of you slacks off, then the boat won't go nearly as fast. Parks and other places with bodies of water often have paddle boats that you can rent. A couple of hours out on the water is an enjoyable experience, and it gives you a chance to spend some time with your spouse. It won't be long after you're out on the water that the two of you are talking up a storm. Before you know it, you've spent the time chatting about all the things that you've wanted to talk about. A date spent paddle boating isn't about being on the water; it's about being alone with your spouse and having the opportunity to talk and relax together.
Outdoors
Take a trip out on the water and enjoy a date paddleboarding. The great thing about paddleboarding is that it's not only fun but it's also a great workout for your entire body. Sometimes it's great to get out and put your body in motion. Paddleboarding allows enjoying Mother Nature while also sharing a precious moment with your spouse. Paddleboarding doesn't require you to own your own equipment, as many areas will have rentals available. Having an instructor isn't necessary since you can quickly learn how to paddleboard within a few minutes at the most.
Sports
The entire goal of paintball is to see how many times you can hit your target. Who is your target? Well, it's you and your spouse! If shooting each other is too much for either of you to handle, then you can do a little target practice. It will be fun to see who can hit the target the most with the paintballs. If you're feeling adventurous, then hunt each other in a warlike manner until all of your paintballs are gone. The winner will be the person who has the least amount of paint on them. There's something so fun about shooting each other with paintballs that it might become a regular date night activity. If you have your own equipment you can play with just the two of you or a small group of friends. Or if not, find a place that offers paintball and provides everything you need including the venue itself.
Arts & Culture
Some people take up painting as a means of self-expression and relaxation. Painting can be an inexpensive date idea that can reap all kinds of rewards. Allow your inner artist to flourish and paint what you've been bottling up for so long. It might be interesting for the two of you to work on the same project. You can either take turns painting or ask the other for input on what to paint next. If one of you is an artist while the other is not, have the master teach the apprentice how painting is done. If you want to kick up your painting date a few notches, you can both watch a famous art instructor like Bob Ross and follow along as he tells you what to do. There are tons of online tutorials or local classes that will have you painting something more than stick figures in no time.
Classes & Workshops
Classes that teach you how to paint are a great date idea because it's a skill that you can have with you for the rest of your life. Also, painting classes may introduce you to a local artist who you would've otherwise not known. You'll enjoy looking over the shoulder of someone who knows what they're doing. There's nothing like watching a professional paint. Don't think that you're painting is limited to only what you do in the classroom on your date. You can take your skills and use them to create paintings for years to come.
Fun & Games
There are so many different ways you can have fun with paper airplanes on a date. The most obvious way to have fun with paper airplanes is to fly them. You can fly them off the roof of where you live or go outside to see how far you can throw your paper airplane, or even throw them inside your home. It's also fun to have a competition to see who can get their plane to fly the furthest or for the longest time. Look up various designs online and learn how to make them. If you want to go the extra mile and have a truly fantastic paper airplane date, decorate your airplane before you throw it. You might even consider not throwing your paper airplane at all and saving it as a memento to remember your date. If either of you are the artistic type, you can share in the decoration of your paper airplane to make it even more fabulous.
Entertainment
Going to the parade requires a little preplanning, but it's not too difficult. You might need to bring lawn chairs and also find a good place to sit. It's best to find a place to sit at least an hour or so before the parade begins, depending on how many people are involved. Go online to see where the parade route is so that you can find the best possible location. If you live on the parade route, then sit in your yard. It's fun to pay attention and see if you know anyone who is in the parade. Comment on all the floats and talk about the ones you enjoyed most after the parade. Make sure to keep your smartphone handy so you can snap pictures and make videos to share with each other later on.
Sports
Parasailing combines a love of water, adventure, and the great outdoors. Going parasailing is a marvelous date for those who don't get to be outside enough. Also, if you're the type that seeks an adrenaline rush, there's no better way to get it than when you're high up parasailing. Try to find a parasailing company that can take both of you up at the same time. It will be so much fun to see how the other reacts while you're taking off and going up in the sky. The view from all the way up there is beautiful, and there is no better person to share it with than the person you love.
Fun & Games
If there's an event coming up that requires a party, planning for it is a must. Can you really turn party planning into a date? Why not? You can plan the party out longhand on a piece of paper or use an electronic device to make it much easier. You could turn an evening at the park into a party planning date and even have a picnic. You'll have to get together with your spouse to plan the party; you might as well turn it into a date. Even a pan of freshly baked brownies and a glass of milk can turn planning a party into a date that the two of you can enjoy.
Eclectic
People watching is a free and fun activity that a married couple can do almost anywhere. Go to a park, shopping mall, or anywhere else people congregate. Watch the people and make comments to each other about the people that you see. It's a bad idea to make fun of people or to say anything that would hurt their feelings if they heard you. Pay attention to what the people are wearing, their hairstyles, and body types. Humans are the most interesting creatures on the planet, and there's nothing more fun than watching what they look like and do while in public.
Shopping
Do you like it when your spouse smells good? If so, a date of perfume or cologne shopping is something the two of you will love. Most stores sell both perfume and cologne, and those are the stores that you should go to. How about you take your date to the next level and shop for a scent without your spouse being by your side? If you're leery of your spouse possibly not wanting to wear the scent, check with them before you go through the checkout aisle. It will be exciting to see what scent your spouse chooses and if it's something that you can stand to have on your skin.
Personal Development
There are all kinds of free personality tests that you can take online. It will be so funny to see your spouse's reaction to some of the questions. It'll be even more eye-opening when they see the results of their personality test. Pop some popcorn, pour a glass of soda and see where the questions take you. Usually, the questions take you down a path where the two of you will be chatting it up in no time flat. The real fun of a personality test isn't the test itself; it's spending time with each other. Sometimes you need a little nudge in the right direction to sit down and smell the roses, and a personality test is as good of an excuse as any.
Shopping
Pet stores are a lot of fun for many different reasons, so going to one is a great date idea. If you have a pet, then take it along with you if the store allows it. Take a walk and get some exercise along with your furry friend. If you don't have a pet, walk around the pet store and consider buying one. If you're a newly married couple, you might be surprised by what type of pet your partner chooses. Sometimes the funniest thing to do is to look around at the pets and see which one looks like your spouse. You'll both burst out laughing when you tell the other which animal you think they look like.
Eclectic
Petsitting enables you to do something good for someone and also provides the perfect opportunity to spend some time with your spouse. If the two of you are animal lovers, then petsitting will come naturally. If you aren't, then petsitting might offer a hilarious opportunity that otherwise wouldn't exist. Or maybe the two of you are interested in getting a pet and want to try it out for a day. If you're sitting a dog, take it out for a walk. The two of you will get some much-needed exercise, and so will your furry friend. Also, some pet stores allow you to bring pets inside them. Take the dog or cat to the pet store and allow them to choose a toy. It will be nice for the animal, and the two of you will enjoy watching it react to being inside the store. Petsitting can also sometimes turn into housesitting, where you get to stay at someone else's house for a little while free of charge. In either case petsitting can be a fun date with your spouse.
Outdoors
Petting zoos tend to have cute furry animals that are so much fun to pet. Usually, the cost of entry into a petting zoo is a few dollars at the most. Going to a petting zoo is a great date idea if one or both of you are an animal lover. Make sure to take plenty of pictures of each other with the animals during your date. Looking back at the photos of you having so much fun at the petting zoo will be a total blast later on. The zoo's wide variety of animals ensures there is something that both of you will enjoy petting.
Arts & Culture
Photography is a fun hobby that you can share with your spouse. The enjoyable aspect of having a photography date isn't only taking the pictures but also finding interesting locations. If you have camera equipment great, but if you don't, then it's no big deal. The camera on your smartphone is probably good enough for taking amateur pictures. Try your best to scour your local area for the most exciting photo opportunities. If you really want to take your photography date to the next level, share your pictures on social media. The two of you will love to see how many people like your photos and to read the comments left by your followers.
Classes & Workshops
A picture is worth a thousand words, and a photo lasts a lifetime. A date that includes photography classes is sure to stay with you for the rest of your life. By taking photography classes during your date, you will be able to capture moments in time like never before. You can have one photography class date or several. Those of you who are seeking more advanced photography skills will want to take more than one class. That's okay; every couple can use a few more dates.
Arts & Culture
Couples who enjoy going out and listening to instrumental music will love going to the piano bar on date night. Have a drink or two, and enjoy live music being played on a piano. Piano bars are great alternatives for people who like live music but don't like the wild bar scene. Set aside money for a taxi or have a friend pick you up if you plan on drinking. You can play dress up and wear all kinds of fancy clothes. Make it a theme night, and the two of you wear something similar, like beach vacation night or whatever strikes your fancy.
Outdoors
Picnics are so much fun, and there is a wide variety of ways that you can enjoy them. If you're in a hurry, hit up your local fast food restaurant for something to eat for your picnic. Those of you who have the time, share the cooking duties, and whip up something delicious in the kitchen. Bring along an old towel or blanket so you can put it down on the ground to sit on while you're eating. Parks, hiking trails, or anywhere else you can be alone while enjoying your meal are ideal spots for a picnic date.
Fun & Games
A good old-fashioned pillow fight is a fun date activity that can quickly turn into something far more exciting. How can you not laugh like a hyena while pillow fighting? The goal here isn't to hurt each other; it's to see how many good hits you can get in. Before you know it, you'll be laughing and having a ball. The best pillow fights always happen when you're in pajamas. Set aside a few minutes before bed to have a pillow fight, and don't be surprised if you end up laughing so hard you turn red in the face.
