Tours
You don't need to be a coin collector to enjoy a U.S. mint tour. You'll never think of the coins in your pocket the same way after seeing how they're made. It's surprising to see the expertise and craftsmanship that goes into making every coin. You will learn how the designs are created and also the method in which each coin is struck. Don't forget to get some souvenirs before you leave so you can always remember the date where you saw how coins are made. To learn more about tours and everything else the Mint has to offer, check out

Eclectic
Wearing ugly sweaters is a trend, and it's not going to go away anytime soon. How do you turn ugly sweaters into a date? You can go out wearing ugly sweaters and see how people react to them. Also, you can go shopping for ugly sweaters. The ugliest sweaters are usually found online, but you never know what your local second-hand shops are going to have. Sometimes thrift stores are the final destination for a sweater that is so ugly no one wants to wear it. Seek out the ugliest sweaters you can find and then have fun taking pictures of yourselves wearing them in all kinds of situations.
Sports
Ultimate frisbee is a game similar to soccer, but instead of a ball, it uses a frisbee. If you know of another married couple that likes to go out on double dates, ultimate frisbee is an excellent activity to do. You can either play against the other couple or team up according to sexes. The men on one team and the women on another if that's the route you want to go. If you want to play by yourselves, it's possible, but a little less fun. It might be more fun to see who can score by throwing the frisbee in the goal from the furthest distance.
Travel
UNESCO world heritage sites are places where you can turn a date into an unforgettable experience. You've seen these sites in books, movies, and on the internet. Why not see them in person and turn it into a date? Take your smartphone with you so you can read up about the site before you get there. Don't forget to take plenty of pictures and videos while you're there to share with your friends and family. No one knows how long UNESCO world heritage sites will last or if they'll continue to be open to the public, so that means you should try your best to see them while you can.
Personal Development
Touring a university might not sound like the most exciting date idea, but it can be a practical date idea if either one of you is thinking about going to school. Or if you're not looking for educational opportunities, almost every university has a history that is as unique as its students. You might have lived in your city your entire life and not know all there is to know about your local university. Take a university tour with your spouse and discover the rich heritage of the educational facility or learn about the benefits of pursuing your education there. If you've got some extra cash laying around, buy a sweatshirt or two for each of you to remember your university tour. If either of you went to the university, it would make the tour much more enjoyable. You'll be able to tell your spouse all about what happened when you were in school.
Causes & Service
Upcycling is a creative way to reuse items that would otherwise end up in a landfill. The fun thing to do is try to create all kinds of items from a variety of materials that otherwise would've been wasted. You can use your masterpieces at home, give them away, or even sell them on eBay or Etsy. Working side by side and allowing your creative juices flow is an awesome way to have a date that is both fun and serves a purpose. Upcycling will enable you to make the world a better place, and turning it into a date can make it an enjoyable experience.
Personal Development
If either of you is currently on the job market or is thinking about returning, updating your resume will be a must. Two heads are better than one when it comes to updating your resume, and that's what makes it a fantastic date idea. You can go over each other's resume and give some tips or talk about something that was looked over. It's always best to have a fresh pair of eyes look over a resume before giving it to a potential employer. Add some snacks into the mix and a little soda pop, and you've got yourself a fun date that could help you land a better career.
Style & Fashion
Face it; you've got things in your wardrobe that haven't been in style for a long time. Now is the perfect time for both you and your spouse to go through your wardrobe and see what you need to get rid of and buy. Online shopping makes it easy, but for the ultimate date, go to a mall or a big box store where both of you can get what you need. Sure, the two of you won't find everything that you need at the same place. But it will be fun to see how the other shops for clothes. Men and women can be polar opposites when it comes to clothes buying, but you'll enjoy seeing how different the other is. Be open about your opinions of clothing options for each other and try stepping out of your comfort zone a little in your choices.
Sites & Landmarks
Every city, regardless of how large, has plenty of urban areas to explore. Urban exploration is the term used to describe touring or checking out old man-made structures that are no longer in use. You can seek out old mansions, historical places, underground tunnles or similar places of interest. A fun thing to do is learn what the buildings in your city were used for in the past. For example, an office building today might have been a department store 50 years ago. Research what your city was like way back when and explore what it looks like in the present day. Urban exploration is something that can easily go from one date to many if you're the type of couple who is extra curious and loves history, culture or architecture.
Sports
Racing in an urban setting is a little challenging, so you'll want to keep that in mind before beginning. There are a lot of ways to race through your city or town including running, cycling and even rollerblading. The critical factor in the safety of your races is that you're racing in a place where no one can get hurt. Check which races are available in your area. You most likely have the typical 5k, half marathon and marathon, but you may also have fun runs, mud runs, team competitions and exotic obstacle course events complete with water, mud, walls, pits, climbing, flames and even high voltage electricity. This can be a great way to get in shape and have fun doing so.
