Romance & Relationship
There are two stages to planning a dream date, and the first is to determine what your dream date is, and then the second is to put it into action. Planning your dream date can be a date in itself. Don't hold anything back and plan for the type of date that you'll remember for the rest of your life. After all the planning is over, then enjoy your dream date! A dream date often consists of things that most people do only once in their lifetime. You're splurging on yourselves, and you mustn't cut any corners. Have you always dreamed of going sky diving, eating at a fancy restaurant, or taking a long cruise? If so, a dream date is a perfect opportunity to do any of those things.
Outdoors
Road cruising is probably not what you think it is, and it's a date idea for those of you who love reptiles, amphibians, and other critters that tend to make people jolt in fear or disgust. Or maybe you want to confront your fears or are just fascinated by the world around you. You will want to be careful though because some of the critters can be poisonous, and it can take someone knowledgeable to know which are which. It's best to find some back roads where you can drive slowly and look out your car window for the creatures. Take your smartphone with you so you can snap a few shots of anything that you see while you're cruising along looking for creepy crawlies.
Sports
A little fun in the sun goes a long way when you're standing on a surfboard. Catching some waves is a great date idea if the two of you love to be out in the water. No two waves are the same, and every time either of you is riding one, it's like a brand new experience. You can take turns using the surfboard, or you can both rent boards and surf at the same time. You will laugh for years about the big wave that got away. There's always one crash that sticks out, and it'll be even funnier if both of you biff at the same time.
Sports
Snorkeling is a great way to explore shallow waters with your spouse. Coral reefs, for example, are beautiful places where two people can enjoy themselves. Go down into the water with a game plan to see as many fish as you can. Turn your snorkeling adventure into a game by trying to spot a specific type of fish while you're down there. Go over a few hand gestures before you down so that you're able to communicate with each other while you're underwater. The best areas for snorkeling are those with clean waters and plenty of wildlife.
Events & Attractions
There are many different types of historical reenactments that you can attend while on a date. A civil war reenactment is probably the most common. If you really want to turn your date into something truly memorable, you might be able to participate in the reenactment. If you participate in the reenactment, see if someone can take some pictures or videos of you doing it. Couples who are history buffs can hook up with their local historical society and discover all kinds of reenactments that are going on in their area. History is alive and well when there are people trying their best to make sure no one ever forgets it.
Outdoors
Hiking is something you can do at your local park, or you can also do it in the wilderness. City parks are a sanctuary for city dwellers as they offer up a rare opportunity to see wildlife not far from the concrete jungle. All you need is a comfortable pair of shoes and the desire to walk to turn hiking into a great date. Bring along a lunch, and you've got yourself a picnic in the open outdoors. It's also fun to try to identify wildflowers and animals while you're going on a hike. For the more adventurous or athetic, pick a more difficult hike with a better payoff for finishing it.
Arts & Culture
Allowing your creative side to flourish by doing arts & crafts is a fantastic date idea. Take it one step further by turning your love of arts & crafts into a business. A fun way to kick off your date is by walking through a craft store and seeing what piques your interest. By the time you're ready to leave the store, you'll have a clear idea as to what you want to make when you're at home. Be as zany and creative as you want to be when creating your crafts. It's great to watch your spouse's imagination come alive and explore their inner self. You don't know who you're married to until you see their creativity open like a flower blossoming in the morning.
Entertainment
A Battle of the Bands is where 2 or more bands compete for the honor of being called the best band. Going to a Battle of the Bands can be a fun date activity for the two of you. Live concerts are always entertaining, but multiple bands trying to outdo each other can be even more fun. Or maybe you'd be interested in competing against each other in your own Battle of the Bands. If so, you can play the video game of the same name. You and your spouse would compete against each other to see which band performs the best. Some couples like to play games, but they're not into violent video games. Battle of the Bands is a fun game without violence. If it's a rainy day outside and your date plans have been ruined, or you want to enjoy a little downtime at home playing games, Battle of the Bands is something you should look into. Battle of the Bands is a game that takes a little time to become a master at, and it's an excellent excuse to turn it into a few more date nights.
Hobbies
Carving usually is done with wood, and it's something that everyone reading this can easily get their hands on. Carving is a skill that takes quite a bit of time to master, but anyone can pick up a piece of wood and begin to carve. A great way to turn carving into a date is by taking turns carving on the same wood piece. Also, one of you might enjoy painting or decorating the final product more than you do carving. A fun thing to do after your carving date is to give your artwork away as gifts. If you have several carving dates and you both get the skill down pat, you can sell your carvings on places like eBay or Etsy to make a little spending money for future dates.
Fun & Games
Attending a costume party during a holiday such as Halloween is a great date idea. If it's nowhere near Halloween, you can always throw a costume party at your home. Be creative and help each other make the perfect costume. Don't forget to snap a few pictures of each other while wearing your costume so that you can remember this night for a lifetime. You get a window into your spouse's mind when you see what they make their costume out of. If you really want to have a blast, go someplace while wearing your costume and see how people react. Get a little extra mileage out of your costumes by bring them to Comicon or home for just the two of you to enjoy.
Causes & Service
Do you know someone in the hospital, serving in the military or maybe someone lonely or down on their luck? If so, making a care package for them is a great idea. If you belong to a church, you can ask your pastor if there are people who you can make care packages for. Making care packages during a date night will bring you closer together while also doing something great for other people. Any time that you can combine your energy to make lives better for others is a great date. Your compassion for others will improve your life and strengthen your relationship.
Food & Drink
A dinner party for two - why not? Get some tasty drinks, the ingredients to your favorite dish, add a couple of aprons, and you're all set. Throw in some candles, and you've got a fantastic meal for two at a fraction of what it would cost in a restaurant. Being all alone is such a beautiful thing, and moments like these can be few and far between when you're married. Savor not only the food but the togetherness because who knows when the two of you will get to be all alone again. Splurge and have dessert, and since you're at home, feed it to each other while in bed. You can also attend or throw your own dinner party for friends and family which also makes a great date.
Hobbies
Drones are so much fun to fly, and that's why they've grown in popularity. You can fly a drone just about anywhere, including inside, if you're careful. The best place to fly a drone is an area with plenty of open skies. If both of you have drones, there are so many things you can do. You can have races; you can try to do stunts, or fly together and have fun. Many drones have cameras built in, so why not go exploring and capturing video of the beauty of your area? Going outside for a few minutes to fly your drone is as good of an excuse as any to get off of the couch and to enjoy being outside. If you're new to the hobby be sure to learn about any local laws or ordinances related to flying drones. Take your love of drones to the next level by getting your spouse involved in the hobby that you can't get enough of. Your drone dates will become a regular thing if your spouse enjoys them anywhere near as much as you do.
Events & Attractions
There is no celebration quite like Oktoberfest. You don't need to be German or be in Germany to celebrate Oktoberfest. Many cities around the world celebrate Oktoberfest. If the two of you are feeling adventurous on your Oktoberfest date, you can dress up like they do in Germany. Make sure to stop by and visit some friends and family while wearing your costumes. They will get a kick out of your date and will want to take some pictures. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and all the offerings of Oktoberfest and this wonderful time of year during your date.
Tours
There are undoubtedly places all over the world that you'd like to go, but can't for one reason or the other. You may have always dreamed of seeing the pyramids in Egypt, but aren't able to. Going on a virtual tour is the next best thing, and it can be done in the comfort of your home. Both of you need to sit in front of the computer and then allow the magic of the internet to do its thing. Before long, you'll feel like you're right there, seeing the sights and sounds that you've always wanted to experience. For added fun, whip up some dishes eaten by the locals of the people native to where you're taking the tour. You'll then be able to see, hear, and taste the area, bringing it even closer to home.
Sports
Going to a roller derby is a classic date experience that never goes out of style. Nothing is more exciting than watching people on roller skates go around in a circle while trying their best to ransack their opponents. Anyone who has ever seen a roller derby knows there is no greater form of excitement than watching these talented, athletic individuals pound the living daylights out of each other. Try to find souvenirs such as t-shirts or other things at the roller derby so you have a trinket you can take home with you to remember your date by. If the roller derby sells DVDs of the event, try to snag one so you have a video of your date that you can watch later on to remember how much fun you had.
